WASHINGTON – Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), Chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee, released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 7024, Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024.

“Millions of hard-working Texas families, workers, and job creators will benefit by the passage of H.R. 7024, Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024.

“This tax package builds on our landmark 2017 tax reform legislation, cutting red tape and spurring job creation that will help ignite the engine of growth we so desperately need.

“In addition, the legislation restores domestic research and development initiatives so that American companies can remain competitive with China, resolves tax matters between the U.S. and Taiwan important to the semiconductor industry in Texas, and helps communities rebuild after recent natural disasters – all while saving over $70 billion in taxpayer dollars.

“Unfortunately, Americans continue to feel the burden of Bidenomics, which has driven up the price of everyday costs like groceries, gas, and rent.

“As I have in the past, I will continue to support legislation that allows the American taxpayer to keep more of their hard-earned money. I encourage my Senate colleagues to pass this bill and for President Biden to sign it into law.”
